Carla Lewis is a compassionate mother, public speaker, and patient advocate from Jamaica. After her newborn son was diagnosed with sickle cell disease, Carla recognized the lack of sickle cell resources and started a support group. She's continued her advocacy for many years and is Founder and CEO of the Kids Conquering Sickle Cell Disease Foundation and Founder of the Young Adult Sickle Cell Alliance program. Carla also works to educate and promote legislation that encourages more effective, efficient, and up-to-date healthcare policies by advocating with Rare Disease Legislative Advocacy (RDLA) and National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD).
