Diane Francis, MSc, PhD

Professor, Researcher, Health Equity Advocate

Dr. Diane B Francis is a university professor, published researcher, and health equity advocate. She has taken unique approaches to identify how mass communication and human behavior are related as it pertains to cancer survivorship and HIV prevention.

Dr. Francis's research interests are centered in how health communication strategies—both traditional and digital—can best be harnessed to mitigate health disparities in diverse and underserved populations. Her research has involved investigating health campaigns and health messaging strategies to understand what works with minority individuals and communities, and evaluating individual-, community- and population-level interventions.
